Had all the cable routed to a room downstairs which I have made into my network closet.
No problems punching down the cables and haven’t had any slip out. I mounted this to a swing-out bracket to make it easy should I have to add any more Ethernet in the future.
Fairly easy to install. Should use a Krone Blade for better cut downs instead of a 110 punch. The picture shows the backside of the patch panel. Just finishing up punch down before I flip it over. Used CAT 6 cables it took some maneuvering to turn without pulling off any cables. Good quality panel. Have purchased in the past. Always tests 100%.
I used this patch panel to terminate the wires from the jacks in the rooms of my house.It seems to be doing a good job so far.
The stickers on the back that show you which wire goes where are not *quite* aligned with the wire slots on some of the jacks.It’s not hard to figure it out, but don’t blindly follow the stickers.It helps a lot to start at one end and do each jack in order (don’t try to skip a jack) – that way it’s easy to see if you’ve left a wire slot empty.The stickers are marked for both 568A and 568B wiring schemes.You’ll need a 110 punch down tool.
As another reviewer noted, the connections for one jack are on both sides of the board – two pair on the top, two pair on the bottom.No problem for me, but I have seen other panels where all four pair are on one side.
Mine came with four plastic split hoops (cable guides) that can be installed in any of eight places on the back of the panel.They attach pretty securely, once you make sure they are seated all the way.It also came with some 4" white nylon zip ties; you could (carefully) put these through the slots where the split hoops attach if you wanted.
I can’t comment on its gigabit-ness as I am only using it on a 10/100 network, but it does 100 megabits just fine.

Really disappointed in this.I have it in my home network and was having connection problems.I put my LAN tester and it said there were two open pins (3 & 6) at the patch panel.I repunched them down and noticed that when I pulled my punch tool back, the wires just slipped out.I repunched it a number of times with the same result.
I recommend you look elsewhere for a better product.Me?I’m returning this and going with a Leviton Quick Port system.
I had bought this for my workplace for the network and server upgrades we were doing. So far, for a small business, this has been a great tool for the job. I can easily mount and hook everyone in. The quality of the punch downs is great and I had no trouble with termination. Only bad thing is the price. Seems so steep for something so basic but you buy what you need to buy.
Used for my new home network, mounted inside of a 15U rack with no issue, installation on rack and mounting of ethernet ends was very easy and simple. All labeled for type of ethernet you want. No issues, great value for money. Currently have 18 of the 24 slots being used and haven’t had any issues.

I’ve used up 18 of 24 ports on this thing so far, and everything worked great until we tried using port #18. We tried different cat6 cables (stranded AND solid), different wall jacks and re-crimping the patch on the panel itself. It keeps saying two wires are crossed. Moved patch to #19 and everything worked the first time around.
I’ve taken off two stars due to poor QC. At this point I do not intend to re-crimp 18 patches, but this in effect turned it into a 23 port panel, which is not what I paid for.
Excellent patch panel. Build quality is solid and labeling is very clear. The connectors just scream quality. When you plug in your ethernet cable, the connector makes a really satisfying click. I’m using this for my home’s CAT6 and it’s been working great.

In pratica si “piegavano” i contatti in modo più o meno casuale e ovviamente ho cominciato ad avere malfunzionamenti continui ed impossibilità di raggiungere 1Gbit di velocità. Capito il problema ho pensato di passare ad un modello professionale. I costi li ho trovati subito proibitivi sinceramente (oltre 200 euro per un 24 porte). Poi girando parecchio su internet ho trovato molte recensioni positive dei Trendnet e ho provato. Sono estremamente soddisfatto, prodotto eccellente davvero. Ottima cura costruttiva e reale categoria 6. Tutto funziona a 1 Gbit perfettamente. Meglio se avete l’apposito utensile (Krone Tool)per inserire e tagliare automaticamente i cavetti. Unica pecca l’orientamento orizzontale dei contatti e non verticale rispetto al frontalino.
L’ho acquistato per un utilizzo diverso dal suo… in pratica, non avendo un rack a casa, ho tolto i 4 moduli da 6 prese di rete e li ho installati su una scatola elettrica dove mi arrivano tutte le connessioni di rete! Davvero un ottimo lavoro e funzionano perfettamente!
This worked perfectly. Every port I punched down worked correctly, and the color coding on the backside made it really simple. You will need your own punch down tool however. It also comes with some cables management clips to hold your cabling to relieve the stress that their weight may cause on the punch downs.

I purchased this patch panel as part of a set up for adding better connectivity to the far side of my house.I ran a Cat6 cable from my main router/switch to my entertainment room and set up this patch panel to accommodate that cable run and all the runs I needed for my Ring POE security cameras.I matched this patch panel with a very nice NetGear POE switch for the camera connections as well as a hardwired computer for multi media projection and a another WiFi router for stronger bandwidth for all my wireless devices.I could not be happier as I am getting a solid 250-300MBS on my wired devices.This patch panel made all the connections easy and I didn't have to strain my eyes trying to crimp RJ45 connectors at the end of my runs.
I use this panel when network hardware manufacturers break the holy "Ports and LEDs in the front, power in the back!" rule of rackmount equipment (I'm looking over my glasses at you, Adtran!).
I punch down 2' lengths of Cat5e to the jacks, and terminate the other end with male RJ-45 connectors so that I can rackmount this panel above the offending bit of equipment and plug the male ends into the jacks on the rear of the equipment, giving me access to the ports from the front of the rack.
Pay close attention to the punchdown order and pair locations, as it's different from some other manufacturers. The color-coding labels near the punch positions are just a hair smaller than the actual wire locations, so it can be easy to get mixed up if you're not paying attention.
Other than that, it's a decent panel. It won't hold up to a lot of cycles of pulling and repunching copper, so try to get it right the first time.
This will just be a quick review.I networked a brand new office build-out with five hardwired rooms with this patch panel.It provides gigabit connectivity to a D-Link DGS-1008G 8-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch I also purchased from Amazon and punching down wires is much more preferable to crimping RJ45 jacks.As far as functionality goes, it's doing its job.
However, the size of this thing.I don't know why, but no place on this planet sells a metal mounting bracket for this 10" patch panel.Had I known I'd never be able to find a fitting bracket, I would have concealed the cables behind drywall and installed this unit directly on the wall.If you're looking for a rack mount or a mounting bracket, forget this item ever existed.There is nothing designed by TrendNET or anyone else that supplements this particular patch panel.
This product is pretty good. I wish they provided a plastic sheath to cover a wall mount application. Looks nasty if you just screw to the wall. It did allow me to clean a rats nest of wires from a PoE security system though. Used an aftermarket tool for securing the wires.
Had to purchase a 2nd one, original panel didn't withstand a lightning strike to house, lost 1 port on panel, a router, Sony Bravia TV and several other electrical items in house.NOT THE FAULT OF THE PANEL, that's why I purchased a replacement without hesitation.
I've ordered patch panels on line before and been incredibly disappointed.Got one from China that wasn't even labeled on back with what color wire goes where.How do you even use that?Trial and error?
